Final Project: Short Film

Project Description

For my final project in DVA274, I created a movie trailer using footage from Labyrinth. The goal was to edit a 2–4 minute promotional-style trailer that clearly conveyed tone, story movement, and emotional appeal while using professional nonlinear editing techniques. I structured the trailer to highlight a clear beginning, middle, and end, selecting and arranging clips to build momentum and engage the viewer. The final piece was exported in the required QuickTime format at 960×540 resolution.

Fulfilling Objective 5

This project required me to take on several key post-production roles, including editing, color correction, and overall visual refinement. By selecting, arranging, and adjusting footage from Labyrinth to create a cohesive and engaging trailer, I demonstrated competency in these foundational field-production skills. Using industry-standard editing tools, I shaped the pacing, corrected visual inconsistencies, and balanced audio to produce a polished final trailer that reflects professional post-production workflows.
